Hamburg/Bremerhaven. After more than 30 years in international terminal logistics, Prof. Dr. Holger Schütt is retiring on 31 March 2025. As co-founder and long-standing managing director of akquinet port consulting GmbH, he played a decisive role in shaping digitization and automation at many container terminals worldwide.
As early as the 1990s, Holger Schütt did pioneering work in the field of terminal simulation. With his experience and technical know-how, he contributed, among other things, to the successful planning and commissioning of the automated terminal Altenwerder in Hamburg. During his time at ISL and akquinet port consulting GmbH, he further developed the simulation and emulation platform CHESSCON with his colleagues there, which is now established internationally as a digital planning tool – including in South Korea, where AKQUINET recently supported the commissioning of the country's first fully automated terminal.
In addition to his professional expertise, Holger Schütt was also active as a professor at the University of Applied Science Bremerhaven for many years. His pragmatic approach, his foresight and his passion for technological developments remain in the best memories of the akquinet port consulting team. Norbert Klettner, Managing Director of akquinet port consulting GmbH: "With Holger, we are not only leaving a proven expert, but also a valued colleague and friend. We thank him for his enormous contribution to the further development of the terminal industry and our company, which thanks to him is very innovative and looks forward to the next stages of terminal development. We wish him all the best for the new phase of his life."
